Why This Site Exists

My name is Daniel Kovar. I am a freelance web developer based in Prague, and I have spent the past two years working from coworking spaces across the Czech Republic.

This project started out of frustration. When I relocated to Prague in 2023, I needed a workspace outside my apartment. The available reviews were either outdated, suspiciously positive, or written by people who clearly spent one afternoon in a space before passing judgment.

I started taking notes during my own coworking experiences. Which spaces had reliable internet. Where the coffee was actually drinkable. Which community managers actually responded to problems. Over time, these notes became detailed enough to share, and NovalaPoint was born.

My Approach

Every workspace reviewed on this site has been visited personally, usually multiple times over several weeks. I pay for memberships with my own money. Nobody sponsors these reviews, and I do not accept free trial memberships or partnerships with coworking operators.

I bring basic testing equipment to measure internet speeds at different times of day. I note noise levels, observe how staff handles issues, and pay attention to the small details that accumulate into either a good or bad daily experience.

The reviews are deliberately practical rather than comprehensive. I focus on what matters for people who actually work from these spaces daily, not what looks good in a marketing brochure.

Background

Before going freelance, I worked as a developer for a mid-sized tech company in Brno. The shift to remote work during 2020 introduced me to coworking spaces, and I discovered that the right workspace dramatically affects productivity and wellbeing.

I am originally from Moravia, which gives me a local perspective on Czech cities that visitors sometimes miss. I speak Czech natively, English fluently, and enough German to navigate Austrian coworking spaces on cross-border trips.

What This Site Is Not

NovalaPoint is not a booking platform. I do not earn commissions from directing people to specific spaces. There are no affiliate links, sponsored listings, or paid placements.

It is also not an exhaustive directory. I review spaces I have personally used, which means coverage is selective. If a space is not listed, it does not mean it is bad. It means I have not spent enough time there to write about it responsibly.
